Paula Rego.
Fragmente einer Sprache des Körpers
09.09.–15.10.2022
Opening 09.09.
In 2013, Galerie Fred Jahn presented the first solo exhibition in Germany of the work of Paula Rego (1935–2022). Now, Jahn und Jahn is dedicating a second exhibition to the Portuguese-British artist.
The presentation features a selection of her drawings and prints, most of them from the late 1990s and 2000s. Rego’s multifaceted work is determined by thematic complexes that revolve around power relations in family constellations and relationship structures, as well as violence, pain, death, sexuality, and, above all, the social role of women.
Among the others – Michaela Eichwald, Albert Oehlen, Lucie Stahl, Konrad Klapheck, Thomas Bayrle

In collaboration with dépendance from Brussels, Jahn und Jahn is pleased to present Among the others, a group exhibition bringing together artists from both galleries.
All five artists explore aspects of language, gesture, and repetition as well as the relationship between abstraction and figuration in their painting and drawing practice.
