Paul Morrison’s work includes precise excerpts from formal sources drawn from the pictorial worlds of botany, cartoons, film, and art history. His shaping of the evidence of these worlds into monochrome sculptures, as silhouettes in the landscape so to speak, attests to the encounter between a vegetal structure and the creative power of an artistic vision.
The very concept of nature implies this man-made approach. According to Hans Blumenberg, the idea of nature itself already contains a deformation and accentuation of the original world structure.

For Various Others 2022, new outdoor sculptures by Paul Morrison are being simultaneously presented in Düsseldorf and Munich for the first time. Thus, the idea of a partner gallery also takes on an active role in the territorial and concurrent interweaving of the exhibits.
